WIP Wednesday and Trying New Yarns

I currently have four w.i.p.s which I don't think is too bad considering what it could be with all the projects rattling around my head. :)

The top one is a drop stitch scarf with Lion Brand Homespun in Gemstone Stripes, acrylic / polyester.  Homespun is one of my favorite yarns, I love the texture.

The second one down is my alien cowl with The Fibre co. fingering Cumbria in Buttermere and Helvellyn.  wool / mohair.  This is a new one for me.  On a recent trip to the local yarn shop, The Yarn Gallery, and picked these two up with no intentions, I just looooooved these colors and had to have them.

The third is an eyelet hat with Potion Yarns, Bombshell worsted, in Zombie Blood, superwash merino.  Also my first time working with this yarn, its soft and squishy!  And the colorway is beautiful.

And the bottom one, I've been working on the longest, off and on since some time last year.  I'm really not sure if its going to be a big shawl or a medium sized triangle scarf.  It's really plain and I'm just sort of feeling my way through it. I know I wanna make some sort of border at the top but not sure what.  This one is also Lion Brand, Heartland, acrylic.  I have also used this one before, it has a wonderful soft texture.

The best way to keep my projects sorted and untangled, with bags!
I just made the zodiac bag last week, I am in love with this print!
The bones bag I've had for a while I've also utilized a mesh bag that an order of yarn came in.  And the pink bag I got from the yarn shop fits the cakes side by side so perfectly and I just love having this cute pink paper bag around. :)

Ribbon Cowl and Stylecraft Batik Yarn

Pattern: Ribbon Cowl by Frankie Brown
Yarn: Stylecraft Batik

When I saw this cowl I knew I had to make it in the exact same colorway, I just thought it was so gorgeous!  I'm so happy with how it came out, I just love it!

This is also my first time using Stylecraft Batik yarn.  Very pretty, and really soft, I will definitely be buying them again!
BTW, I purchased them from love knitting and they have the cutest packaging, and the shipping was quick!

Triangle Scarf and Landscape Yarn

Pattern: Totally Triangular Scarf by Michelle Krause
Yarn: Lion Brand, Landscape in Coral Reef

I really enjoyed making this scarf, the pattern was easy to follow.  The scarf itself took two skeins but I did buy a third to add tassels.

This is also my first time working with Lion Brand Landscape and I LOVE it!  Its very soft, has a beautiful sheen to it and comes in a bunch of beautiful color ways.

W.I.P. Wednesday: Crochet Cat Hat

Today's work in progress is this sparkly, black, cat hat!  I think I might add a little pink to the ears yet.

What are you working on?
