Ren Faire

I went to Ren Faire with Alicia and Melissa this weekend!  It was my second year going and I loved it!  But surprisingly I didn't take that many pictures, I must have been too excited!  But here are some of the ones I did manage to take.

The dragon puppet store, the imaginarium has so many cool puppets!

Love these candles!

Ye old news paper lining my snack!

Sword drink!

I bought this cool necklace there!  It comes with a little marble jewel inside!

I also got this soap I'm in love with!  It smells so good!  It's so hard for me to find honey almond
anything anywhere.  They also have a website The Enchanted Forest.

And this is what I wore to the Faire!  Unicorn sweater, socks and button I created out if an
old POG!  Remember pogs?

Next year we're dressing up!  I can't wait!
And I'll definitely remember to take more pics!

Basement Treasure Hunting Part 2

An idea struck me for using up my old POG collection so I went digging in my basement again and found a few more treasures!  And of course my pogs!

First of all, I found my little mermaid game!!!  I knew I still had it!  Also a Game Boy and Bart vs. The Space Mutants!

I used to LOVE this awesome doll paper punch!  Under one shoe it punches hearts and under the other it punches stars.  This shall now have a permanent spot on my desk.

Another Polly pocket to add to the collection.  The bed turns into a ring on this one!

Even though the paint on the metal body of the Batmobile is chipped pretty bad, I still love it.  Oh memories!

Now I've got some pog crafting to do!

See ya later!

Count Chocula

Tis the season for spooky cereals!!

Seasonally Count Chocula, Boo Berry, and Frankenberry are made available but this time they also brought back Yummy Mummy and Frute Brute!

I really wanted some Yummy Mummy and Frute Brute but they weren't there this time so instead I have good old Count Chocula.  Only it's not.  It tastes really different.  It barely even tastes like chocolate.  The taste was really bland.  I don't know if I got a bad batch or since its just a seasonal thing they don't bother  getting the taste right.  Oh well!  I'm still going to try Yummy Mummy and Frute Brute.  Hopefully the fruitiness will be more noticeable.  Some times fruity cereals are just more potent.

What are you some of your favorite seasonal snacks?

It's the first day of Autumn!

Autumn is my favorite season!  I can't wait to pick a pumpkin and go through the corn maze!

And lots of Autumn knitting and crocheting!

What are you planning this season?

W.I. P. Wednesday: Striped Wrist Warmers

Today's work in progress are my striped wrist warmers.  Not to to be confused with fingerless gloves/mitts, they usually have a thumb hole or gusset and I just didn't feel like it. :)

I have one done and one to go.  I am using Caron Dazzleaire yarn.  It is so soft and it also has a slight shiny sheen to it!

Reading: Relish

Relish by Lucy Knisley
"How can you do that?!"
"With relish!"

This book came highly recommended from Cazz of Nerd Burger.  It was in her Comic book roundup video for May 2013.
I really enjoyed reading this!  I read it before having to go to work and all the while I was working all I could think about was cheese!  Thanks to the cheese chart I was aggressively studying, lol!
There are a few recipes in this book also, the chocolate chip recipe looks delish but its the pickle recipe I'm excited to try!  Last year my dad pickled most of the cucumbers we grew which I LOVED.  He also pickled some green tomatoes which I haven't grown a taste for yet and still make squeamish faces as I watch him eat them! :P
This year the cucumbers were fail but there are a bunch of late ripening tomatoes that are probably gonna make that jar!  Noms for dad! :)

(This made me laugh!)

For a full review of this book please check out Nerd Burger's comic book roundup video, she goes into really good detail and you will be sold, just like I was.  Really great book! :)

Scarf and Cape

I just wanted to share the patterns for the troll accessories I made.  They would work well with any doll this size. :)

The blue knit scarf was really simple.  I just knit in garter stitch.  I used a sock yarn with a cast on of four stitches then knit until it wrapped around once then bind off.

I crocheted the pink cape using a medium weight yarn and a size I hook.
Chain 10 stitches
Row 1: One half double crochet into each stitch.
Row 2:  Two half double crochet into each stitch.
Row 3: One half double crochet into each stitch.
Sew on a button to the top of one side. With the wide spacing creating a button hole on the other side isn't necessary.

And that's it!  Nice and easy!  I'm also working on a knit version of the cape and will post it when I'm done. :)

See ya!

Basement Treasure Hunting

So after my mini trolls arrived I started wondering where all my other trolls got to.  I decided to go Treasure Troll digging in my basement and found a few, plus some other little goodies that put a smile on my face!

First of all I have to start off with this duffle bag I found.  I long forgot I had this and fell in love all over again!

Stored my bounty in there!

I found tons of things digging through three giant blue plastic barrels but these are the things I will never get rid of!
First of course we have the troll dolls, complete with combs, then a Furby, some funny McDonald toys, and a neat ghost buster figurine.  A cool camera, a Beauty and the Beast game and some Polly pockets!

Pocket town!

When you squeeze his arm down his head pops up and his mouth drops open!  Too funny! :D

I was just so happy I found these combs to go along with my trolls!

I used to love playing this game and I remember I also had a Little Mermaid one as well, but didn't find it.  Man!

I've been crafting! Lol!  I knit a blue scarf and I crocheted a pink cape with a star button so far, and thinking about other pieces to do.  Any ideas?... And suddenly I am feeling like creepy troll lady.  Hmm, awkward... :P

Anyway!  I had a blast going through all my old stuff!  Anybody else have any old treasures you're hanging on to?  Or any awesome finds?

On a side note, I am still blogging from my phone so the pics were taken with my phone and I apologize for the not so great quality.

Hi Coffee!

Coffee just wanted to drop in and say hi, and show off his new hair do! :)

He's hiding a cookie under his chin.  Silly! ❤

They left the hair on top of his head long. I've been playing with it and spiking it up. :P

Just a little photo dump of what I've recently made and what I'm currently working on!  I've been busy! :)

Soft and fuzzy skinny scarves!

Voodoo Brew coffee cozy!

This was going to be a shawl but it turned out too small sooo it's a scarf! :)

I'm really crazy about this open weave crochet stitch right now!

Making a rainbow scarf with rainbow star beads! :)

Working on Superman t's!

What are you working on right now? :)
