Candy Corn Pattern

Four U.S. size 5 dpns.  White, orange, and yellow yarn (I used Red Heart Super Saver for all three).

Candy Corn (cone piece)

CO 39 sts onto three dpns (13 sts per needle) in yellow.

Row 1: knit

Row 2:  knit 11, knit 2 tog, knit 11, knit 2 tog, knit 11, knit 2 tog  (basically you will knit all sts, knitting the last two together on each needle).

Repeat Rows 1 and 2 though Rows 3 to 24.

On Row 9 switch to orange (this is a knit only row)

On Row 17 switch to white (this is a knit only row)

When you get to the last row you will have three sts left, one on each needle.  Thread a tapestry needle with your yarn and gather the last three sts onto the needle,  pull the yarn through tight and tie it off.

The bottom part

CO 10 sts in yellow.  Knit in stockinette stitch for 15 Rows.

(Stockinette stitch: Row 1 Knit, Row 2 Purl)

Assembling the pieces

Turn the "cone" part inside out (so garter stitch is showing) and sew the bottom part you just knit to the opening of the cone leaving a small hole.  (When you sew it make sure the bottom piece has the stockinette stitching on the inside, so when you turn it inside out again the right side will be facing out)
Through the small opening you left turn the candy corn inside out (so stockinette is showing on the cone and bottom) and stuff the cotton into the hole, then sew the hole shut.

This is the first knitting pattern I've ever posted, I tried to make it as clear as possible, if you have any questions please let me know. :)
